Hello,

I’ve made a YouTube video tutorial on knitting backwards, aka bi-directional knitting. Essentially, how to knit in stocking st (stockinette) without turning.

Hello,

I’ve made a YouTube video tutorial on knitting backwards, aka bi-directional knitting. Essentially, how to knit in stocking st (stockinette) without turning.
Enjoy!
The Harrow Knitters had their inaugural Second Friday daytime meeting today. It was lovely, and my latest model was a model of good behaviour! But I’d a job of it trying to find the place.
Get to the Harrow Arts Centre. Go to the car park.
The Harrow Arts Centre now looks like this
(BTW, Through the door on the right is the quickest way to get to Daisy’s In the Arts for the First Tuesday evening meets.)
To get to Simply Daisy’s, don’t go *into* the arts centre, but go to the right of it.
Go past the prefab where they’re having the WeightWatchers meeting.
What’s that in the corner?
Aha! There it is!

Here’s a table of all the Harrow Knitters’ meetings next year. Check out our rav group for more info.
I would greatly appreciate your help in testing my latest pattern, Roxbourne.

This beanie-style hat features crimped welts that give it some interesting shaping. The body of the hat is a stocking stitch panel, which you can decorate however you want. I’ve included charts for the skull-and-crossbones motif if you like pirates!

Get in touch if you’d like to join in, I’ll be conducting the test in my ravelry group.
My hubby was in the shower last Tuesday morning as I was preparing breakfast, and suddenly, I found myself sharing the shower with him. Not in the same room, mind. The plumber came round and £250 pounds later, we have a spanking new shower and a fistful of dire warnings about the state of our bath. Apparently it is disintegrating. As in, the fibreglass is shredded and who knows when I might be taking more showers with my man. So my gauge was a little tight last week, shall we say!
We’re saving for a new bathroom – hopefully it’ll get done within the next year – I want the blandest, cleanest looking bathroom available with a shiny white suite. Currently, it’s a sickly yellow-pink. Ugh. And we’re pretty sure it was put together on a DIY basis by the last guy who lived here – we have had so many problems with it. Complete bodge job. Nothing seems to have been put in right. The pipes on the loo have had to be changed, the overflow doesn’t work, the sink has a w bend instead of an s-bend, none of the tiles are parallel and the grouting is mostly on top instead of between. <Rant over> (sorry).
I dunno what you’re looking down here for, I am not posting pics of my bathroom.
May your week be leak-free, and may nothing but blessings rain down upon you!
Hello! If you’ve previously read about us Harrow Knitters on girlpurlandtwoknittingneedles‘ blog, I’m updating the info! This post accurate November 2012.
The Harrow Knitters are a very friendly group of crafty ladies of all ages and walks of life. If you just want to give knitting or crochet a go, or you already know 3 kinds of estonian nupp, come along and join in the banter. There’s frequently cake! Maybe bring a garter stitch scarf if you want to catch up on the gossip! There’s always someone with an interesting story to tell or a new technique to show.
All meetings are knitting and crochet. We try and change the day and time throughout the month so it doesn’t clash with member’s other commitments.
On the first Tuesday of every month, 8pm at Daisy’s Bar & Bistro in Harrow Arts Centre, 171 Uxbridge Road, Hatch End, HA5 4EA. This is inside the arts centre, not Simply Daisy’s which is adjacent to the centre. This is a new venue for us and a change from Grim’s Dyke. Rail: Hatch End, Bus: H14, H12 & 182, Parking: Free parking is available.
On the 2nd Monday of every month at 8pm at the Oddfellows Arms Pub, 2 Waxwell Lane, Pinner, HA5 3EN (opposite Lidl or the Police station). Babies/children cannot attend due to the pub’s license.
On the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 8pm at the Oddfellows Arms Pub, 2 Waxwell Lane, Pinner, HA5 3EN (opposite Lidl or the Police station). Babies/children cannot attend due to the pub’s license.
On the 4th Thursday of every month at 10am at Costa Coffee in Harrow Town Centre next to Natwest Bank and opposite the Fruit & Veg stall (not the Costa Coffee next to the station).
On the last Friday of every month at 8pm at Papa Gateaux, 4 Cumberland Court, Princes Drive, Harrow, HA1 4UD (£2 contribution).
A suggestion has been made that it would be good if one member volunteers to ‘host’ each meet-up so that someone can greet new members etc.

Happy Knitting!
Look at these beauties:

I’m working on a new project with Jane of StitchUpp. You are looking at the makings of two hats, a cowl and a capelet! Very excited to be working with Jane for the first time, especially since she’s opening her own premises in Uppingham soon, so keep an eye out!
I haven’t tried Artesano Superwash Merino before, so when I’ve done some swatches, I’ll post a review here.
Happy knitting!
