Footloose and Fancy Free

Today is the first day in a long time that I don’t have a commission to work on (and keep top secret). It’s a very weird, liberating, intimidating feeling. I’ve deliberately cleared my plate as it was taking too much energy to maintain. My kids were not getting the attention they deserve. My husband has had to resort to finding hobbies in the evenings as I was simply not there for him to talk to. Any time he addressed me, I’d say “Just a sec, let me get to the end of this row…”.

I know this isn’t my husband’s blog, cos of the Addis… otherwise, could be!

So now, I am going to work on my own thing for a while – no deadlines = no pressure. On the other hand, I _was_ very productive: there are 4 garments in publishing houses waiting to go to print. My resolution for the year was to double the number of patterns I had available at the end of 2013 from 16 to 32. I have three self-published patterns ready to go except for final touches and 2 patterns were released earlier this year. This means I need to create 7 more to reach that target. I’d say that’s very doable. We’ll see though; I need to actually do it. I have some lovely ideas though!
